Most students who are considering a gap year program do so after graduating from high school. However some take a gap year during high school or after a year or two of college. A gap year is a a great time to travel, meet new people, focus on personal growth and get to know yourself outside the confines of the classroom.
A gap year can be a great way to get motivated and inspired for life or for continuing education. motivate and inspire students and better prepare them for college.
Some gap year students worry that taking a break before college will affect their college applications or admissions. Many colleges have gap year policies in place, allowing your application to be deferred for a year without needing to re-apply. If you have questions, reach out to your prospective colleges and talk to them about taking a gap year.
