This semester integrates the highest levels of learning and adventure while focusing on the landscapes, stories, science and connections surrounding the Colorado River. We will travel from high in the snow-covered mountains of Colorado to the Sea of Cortez in Mexico and back again. Along the way we will meet and learn from U.S. and Mexican experts, experience numerous outdoor adventures, and come to understand what it means to lead a life intertwined with the human and natural landscapes of place.
View this Past ProgramHike the Arizona Trail, a stretch of trail linking Mexico to Utah. Over the 800+ miles, we’ll encounter both interesting communities and people as well as diverse ecosystems: deserts, mountains, and canyons. We’ll pass through Saguaro National Park and the Grand Canyon, witness the spring bloom of wildflowers, and resupply in charming “trail towns”.
View this Past ProgramEvery day at the Adventure Semester, small groups of 4-5 teens faced a unique adventure challenge which they have roughly 6 hours to complete. At the end of the day, group members documented their experiences with a short video, blog post, and live oral presentation.
